The Colon:
The colon is also called the large intestine and it is divided into four parts.
The ascending colon, the transverse colon, the descending colon and the sigmoid colon.
The colon absorbs water and electrolytes from solid waste recycle it back into the body and the remaining raw material is stored as feces, moved through the action of peristalsis before being removed through the rectum as stool.
